A short defence of the ferry timetable.
One boat a day sounds like a constraint. After a week in the archipelago it starts to feel like the point.
There is one boat a day to the house. It leaves at 07:40 and it does not wait. When we first listed the place we wrote that as a warning.
It is not a warning
A single departure removes an entire category of decision. You are not weighing up whether to go back to the mainland this afternoon or tomorrow morning, because that is not a question you are allowed to ask. The timetable has already answered it.
What is left is the day in front of you, on an island, with no way off it. Guests who have stayed twice tell us the second visit is better, because they stop treating the boat as a constraint and start treating it as the frame.
A practical note
Bring more food than you think. The shop on the island keeps its own hours and they are not published anywhere.
